Hi,

As far as I am aware your grant and loan will be used for your studies. Is your DLA for you or the children? If it is for the kids then it shouldn't be touched at all.

Do you have any assets that could be in danger if you went bankrupt?

I would take a second opinion - visit www.iva.com for a list of companies and reviews and give one or two a ring for some free and impartial advice.

Hi - the DLA will need to be included in your income but then offset by ALL costs associated with the autism, including the toys. Your children will not go without. If your current firm has advised otherwise, it might be a good idea to take a second or third opinion. Good luck with your studies xx

I would think your children's DLA will be unaffected as above, speak with some professionals for concise information and all the best with your studies. x

ive spoken to many company's. im with a great charitable one. the benefits agency say definitely no to my children's dla but my iva company said they can take it into account but my offer is for only 200 rising to 341 in 18 months. i asked today and except for books ALL my student loan and grant will go to the iva. so im getting a loan to pay off a loan! madness, what incentive do i have to enrich my life, kinda makes me get that cash paid into someone elses account!!!!

Hi. You have either been badly advised or there are crossed wires. Broke of London is correct, in that the DLA can be offset by the children's financial needs.

By the way, your company is not a charitable company (just recommended by one). I would suggest you speak to your IP directly, rather than an office support worker to get this straightened out.

I would have thought that your student loan and grant would be used solely for your educational needs.

I would certainly speak to another company - the experts who post on here come highly recommended.
