Saturday I bought a lucky dip lotto ticket - four numbers £84 - thanks very much !

Today, as I was driving home, an email arrived - get the bottle open .....Mortgage has been approved and the survey has been instructed. Searches and contract all being written - am so happy !

Declan from DFD - if you are reading this - you truly deserve a medal - despite me finishing my IVA late last year,Declan has had to pull out the stops with the mortgage company to ensure they had sufficient confirmation and information to allow the mortgage to go through - thanks !

So I am back off to the lotto shop for another ticket - maybe it will lucky again this week - gonna stick with the same numbers me thinks !

So yes there is hope for those out there that are looking for a mortgage - remain focused, use a whole of the market broker and be patient - save as hard as you can to get the biggest deposit you can muster up and hopefully you too will one day get the same result !

Well done - after weeks of pacing up and down !!!

That's great news! I've had a good week too. My mum asked about my debts straight out and I came clean. She was brilliant and got on to an IP friend of hers to find out all about it! Then she offered to buy me a sofa (don't have one), a TV (broken) and give me some money towards a foreign holiday! She's also making arrangements to sort out my car fiasco! Blimey!! Far from being upset with me, she thinks i should have gone BR and drawn a line under it all much quicker!?! Not what I expected.

Good for your mum BOL! She's come up trumps!

She's a star. I had the devils own job convincing her to let me buy her a mothers day present. We settled on a night at the theatre...but I'm only allowed to get the cheap seats LOL!!

Bol... Telling my mum was the best thing we ever did as it really made us come to grips with extravagant lifestyle... She is still angry at us now but she enabled us to finish it early with a f&f and is proud of us for getting through it... Although she will never be comfortable admitting to family and friends... To me it helped us to get through the tough times !

BOL - Bless your Mum, brilliant in fact! The one thing I hate hiding. is my IVA especially when things have gone wrong with my car, n my parents had to help me out 3 months into our IVA, & i could not explain why other than being skint!
They have never had any form of debt in their life time & would find it very hard to understand how I have managed too get into debt with nothing to show for it than a rusty old car!
BUT! Im very proud of getting through my IVA so far, especially since my major car problem in the early stages x

She is brill! She doesn't have a lot of money herself so this is a big thing for her to do and I feel a bit guilty but I couldn't convince her to let me get on with it on my own. Lulu - she's just the same as yours. Always lived within her means no matterhow constrained and always pays her cards off each month. But I guess that's mums...for better or worse they'll stick by you. God bless 'em!!! Apparently 2.5 years is often when lots of people give up so she's determined to help me get past that point!
