Time does fly within an IVA when you look back, at times it can appear to drag but all in all my journey has been a quick one.
Well done you for completing the first year. x

Thanks everyone,
The past year has certainly been different, some good things and some bad but overall good, we both have had to learn to be more cautious with what money we have, although we have both had moments of splurging.
It started off going really slowly with me more or less counting the days down but the last 3 months have flown by. Hopefully now we are into a routine and once we have the 1st review accomplished it will be plain sailing, We do have a contingency fund, hoarded away in case anything breaks down so hopefully there wont be too many problems along the way. Apart from the cooker which we know we need to replace this year as the grill is only half working and the oven does not reach the right temperature, most of our kitchen equipment was bought within the last 4 years so I am not expecting anything else to break. With living in a council property we do not have to worry about boilers breaking etc as the council would repair them.
So really we are looking and feeling quite positive about the next 4 years, 20% down that feels good.

Sorry Pandy How did I miss this! ahhhhh yes Easter Holidays x
Congratulations hun, the first hurdle is over & done with! The first year is the hardest adjusting to being in a IVA. Then the rest just starts rolling over quite quickly!
Ive only just realized my counter has changed to exactly 24 more payments to go! Something I thought I would never see at one point. Its bit like climbing a hill till you reach the half way point, then you start rolling down the hill to the end!

believe me year 2 / 3 go even quicker. as you say you have settled into living on a budget and know what you can and can't do each month now. Brilliant that you have managed to stash some contingency away and as you say the oven needs replacing - try ebay for a second hand one - my friend got one for £100 the other week - when she got it it was two months old, fully working - house had been sold as part of a separation and husband had put it on ebay as spite !!!

Don't forget Freecycle for white goods as well - will usually only cost you the petrol to go and collect it.
