I don't object to companies calling - I know I'm probably in the minority here - cos the way I see it even though I'm doing something about it I still owe them money so I get it, but automated calls, FFS they are driving me mad! One company is calling me every morning at about this time cos I'm £25 over my o/d, they call home I put the phone down, 1 minute later it's my mobile! I have advised them of our situation, but still no one has called me direct just these blumming automated calls.
Sorry just venting!!

I'm with you on that. Automated call systems are inhumane! There's only so many times and so many ways you can tell someone you haven't got any b***** money...hounding people out of their mind won't change the fact they don't have anything to give them!!!

We are having fun with Santander calling to speak to the daughter. It is an automated call an I just put the phone down. I can't see anyone in their right mind carrying on with it!

that's exactly what I'm doing putting the phone down, it's pointless surely everyone does that, what a waste of time and money on their part eh?

Hey littlefi, wait until you have had six months worth of them as I have then you really will be fed up!
to be honest you get to a point where you develop a thick skin, Cahoot are still ringing me daily even though they have known for over 2 weeks now of the date of our meeting, they tell me the calls are automated and they can't stop them, ho hum

oh Lem I'm sorry god I'd be mental by now after 6 months! I can't see how they can't stop them even though they're automated. Mind you Co op ring me every day (not automated thankfully) and everyday before I even speak they say, oh we shouldn't have rang you, so sorry I see you made an interim payment, I'll make sure the calls stop for a couple of weeks, yet every day I get them. Mind you i don't mind those they're always polite and always apologise

There only role is to get a payment from you. If you dont do that some of the less kind ones just keep ringing.

Just ignore the calls and delete the messages. I'm still getting 2 or 3 a day left on the phone so when I plug it in I just enjoy deleting them. I haven't been making any token payments whatsoever.

Barclays are the worst, they make automated calls asking you to call them back on a 0845 number! When they know we are broke otherwise we wouldn't be missing payments.

I'm the same I haven't heard from my biggest creditor since I sent the letter saying I was going with Payplan, weird! The people who are chasing me the most I owe the least to!

One thing I would always suggest is to change your home phone number - your friends and relatives can just be told that you are having some nuisance calls.

Hi, with regards to kat68 comments about MBNA, they didn't contact me much either but they did vote!! But the other day I got a letter from them which was worded like they wanted to take me to court if I didn't pay them what I owed them!!
I've been under my IVA for 3 months now!! And slightly confused by this letter! Thankfully all the calls hav stopped an things are calming down now. Any ideas about this letter please let me know!!

Hi extreme-jez - I'd just send the letter to your IP. Sounds like the wheels turn very slowly @ MBNA!!
