I know I can sell personal stuff as I asked before on here and it was ok, but obviously it will go through my bank account before going into my savings account. I don't want them to think this is an earning. I'm self employed so my earnings aren't always obvious as in basically I withdraw money from my business account and pay myself whatever amount I can.
Any advise? shall I just keep notes?

I wouldn't worry! I presume you have a Paypal account? If so then you can always change the bank account it is paid into, I am assuming they will let you transfer it into a savings account?
Personally, I keep my ebay spending in my Paypal account to fund buying for me on ebay. I don't transfer it to my bank.
Might be an idea?

I'm too easily tempted on ebay, I will buy something I don't need, that is where my weakness lays, at least I acknowledge it, so need to transer money out of paypal!
I think you can only transfer into a current account but I'm off to paypal now to check that out!

was going to suggest the paypal prepaid card but it appeard to have been discontinued! I did however get an email saying I would get a new one... but nothing has arrived yet!
I think to transfer money you need to setup a DD... they do the transfer of 1p etc... I tried this on my coop savings account and as it does not do DD's it failed!

That's good news Littlefi, temptation removed!
I've just had my new prepaid card - doubt I will use it though.

What is this prepaid card? I've never heard of it!
Ah maybe my savings account might not do DD's either so might fail, ah well I can fall back on transferring to current a/c then straight into savings a/c

You can get prepaid cards from a lot of places - you can't go overdrawn on them and they are accepted in a lot of places. They're not credit cards so no worries there.

Its basically like a gift card.. but you can use it anywhere...
The paypal one was visa but I think the new one is mastercard, however its odd that you can no longer sign up for the service with Paypal, its like they have sold our custom on!

You've not been able to sign up to Paypal for a while now.
Personally I don't think it's anything like a gift card - you sign up to a prepaid card and get an account and pay across money to it so that you can spend on it.

I meant that it is a basic card with the ability to spend money you have loaded on to it... like a gift card has.

It is, but I don't class it in the same way as a gift card. That has a maximum limit and if you are the recipient, as far as I am aware, you can't load on to it.
I do stand to be corrected.
