Hi,

I'm sorry if this does not relate to this forum but really dont know where else to post it.

Well haven't been on here for a while, used to post all the time when me and partner were thinking of going for IVA. However we ended up BR in 2009.

Since this time life has been alot better. it was a big relief to have all the debt misery lifted altho was rather scary at the time. We have been doing really well, learnt to live within our means, only spending money we have and not money we dont have!!!

We've been paying the OR £104 a month since feb 2010 and we've been managing to pay this on time with no defaults, altho i would say that sometimes even this small amount has felt like thousands.

However, we find ourselves in a financial situation that I see no way out of this time - at least last time there was a DMP/IVA/BR available. These obviously aren't available now as we have no debts as such. But we are struggling and getting poorer by the minute. We have minimal direct debits coming out of our bank, only essentials and we are gradually losing the battle.

Since we were assessed by the OR for the monthly payments a few things have changed. I had another baby in January this year which we did plan for and wanted. Also, my partner was made redundant after only 2 years of working for the company - so no redundancy pay out. We found him another job straight away luckily, but it is less money.

Im wondering if i should contact the OR for another assessment of outgoings to see if they can reduce our payments a bit. The only thing is im worried that if they do do another check that something will go wrong and we'll end up having to pay more (altho i cant see this happening as we are financially worse off then we were, but still worried this could happen) or if they will say we don't have to pay for a while and then start paying later. I'd rather get it out the way and not delay it.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Hi Kazza,

Nice to see you and I hope you are all well.

Speak to the OR - they can reduce your payments. You are not going to have to pay more if you don't have the money. I don't think the OR does payment breaks - it is the full 36 months and then it's finished.

Hope you can get something sorted out, you should not be struggling again now.
