Hi Folks
I hope everyone is fine and happy and healthy.
I wonder if I could ask one of the experts a question.
My eldest was working in the Bull ring for the Love Juice. He had not collected his wages for a couple of months as he had broken his hand and was on Stat sick pay. He went to collect his wages only to find that the company had ceased trading and had gone bust.
He has been thinking each week that he is going to be paid which has not happened after 3 weeks of him hoping. From being a member on here I thought that once insolvency proceedings had started the company's assets were frozen and that workers who were owed wages would just become another unpaid creditor and therefore would not be paid. He is reluctant to go on benefits but I don't think he has any choice.
Can anyone clarity so that I can give him some advice?
Thanks in advance

Hi Lesley
thank you honey, he is fine. It is his first job serving fresh fruit drinks. He got his degree and hopes to get a proper job soon so this is just temporary financial set back. He also had his cast off this week and is getting work at the local cricket club for the season. He has done really well to be honest I went to his degree ceremony yesterday. I just want to give him the facts rather than him just hoping for his money.

Hi there Lily - lovely to hear from you again.
If the company has gone into liquidation, he can claim for his unpaid wages from the government's National Insurance fund. if you know which company is dealing with the liquidation, ask them to send him a claim form - and if you cannot find them contact me off-forum and I will send you one in the post with some informatory booklets which will tell him what he is entitled to claim.
Shame about the job, but I hope he finds something else soon.

Thank you so much Melanie, I knew you would be able to help. He knows the liquidation company, we will phone for a form tomorrow.
I am very well thank you, I am sure Matthew will get something else quite soon. I am very pleased to hear that he will get his wages at some point, at least that will solve his immediate financial mess.
God bless you all
Loads of love

Hi Jan
Ruby is fine but Coley boy is a little bit poorly at the moment,he keeps on gagging, it could be something stuck in his throat, although he is getting better now.
I do work for cats protection league mainly fostering. I have two little ones here at the moment Sebastian and Raven. Sebastian is such a mini Cole he will be staying.
Hope you and yours are well
Love
Lily x

Hope Coley is better soon.
I couldn't give them up once they came to me!
We're all fine - a four dog household now as the daughter and her fiance have moved in and he has a guide dog.
