Im a self employed deliver driver, would an IVA put a stop to me leasing a vehicle?

Hi and welcome.
There is no reason why you should not be able to lease a vehicle. You would need to run this past an IP.

Quite possibly - although I have had clients who have been able to manage to find such funding whilst in an IVA, but the funders are probably few and far between. Do you already have a vehicle which needs replacing?

No, I own my vehicle at the moment but it needs replacing as work contract stipulates vehicles have to be no older than a certain age.

'lease' for private use is a form of credit which you may find hard to gain if in an IVA. They are very keen if your a business customer but ones I've spoken to don't want to know anyone in an IVA.

There have been a couple of names on here recently of lease companies that are IVA friendly. Can't remember the names but hopefully someone will be able to name them later for you.

Dunctons and Ultracar are IVA friendly, but not cheap

Neither will be cheap - let's face it they are taking a risk. You are guaranteed a vehicle though.

When I was looking into leasing a few weeks ago, I was told by a Sales Person at msg non status leasing that they deal with a lot of the enquiries from Dunctons, so it might be worth going direct to them. You can google them and get their link to their website. They were very helpful. Not sure whether they do just cars or commercial vehicles too.

CAn you talk to the firm you are contracted to and see if they would waive the requirement to replace the vehicle. If it looks and runs OK perhaps they will allow you a little longer life out of it given your financial circumstances.

5 or 6 years of an IVA with a limited maintenance budget would be pushing it though I think.
Any chance of a family member doing the leasing for you and you being given an allowance in the IVA to pay it?

How much is your number plate worth? Some people are expected to try and sell them if they are worth a bit.
