Hi everyone,
Ive had a letter sent to me today from a company called Tyler Morgan offering to correct my credit files and to remove all the old defaults and also claim back any mis-sold PPI.
Now i feel that its a bit cheeky to claim the PPI back now that my IVA has completed and I know I can clear my credit files myself.
Ive read on here from one person that the company was great and dealt with everything they said they would.
Does anyone else have any personal experience with Tyler Morgan and if so, can you tell me what they were like, Thanks Ian.

Hi,
Mmmmmmm I have just googled Tyler Morgan & nothing is coming up on there, sounds like an ambulance chaser to me & everything they say they can do, you can certainly do your self.

Well --- there is nothing they can do that you can do yourself for free. However, and this is purely a personal opinion, after my IVA is done and dusted I am drawing a line under the whole thing and will not be going back to claim anything. Considering (if all goes to plan) I will have paid back under half the debt (not even thinking about the interest I have been "let off")I am well ahead anyway.

I had the same letter and info pack a few weeks back.

They seem to be using old data from the insolvency service to contact people on mass without getting permission or clearing their files against the Mailing Preference Service.

I called them up to complain and they were down right rude and did not take well to me telling them that I'll sort it out myself and to refrain from contacting me in the future.

They are a bunch of ambulance chasers. They make out that they are the only ones who can clear up credit file correctly. If you know what you are doing then there is nothing they can do you cannot do yourself and you'll just pay a hefty fee for the priviledge.

Don't go anywhere near them. There is some free advice on here on how to clean up your credit file and it works, I've used the same letters myself and now all three CRA's have partially satisified defaults with zero balance owing. All defaults now have dates on or before the date of my IVA. The IVA is marked as complete and I can now look forward to the 24th March 2012 when the whole lot will be wiped from all 3 CRA's.

I would totally ignore them and I echo what the others above have said.

Hmm I thought they resembled "ambulance chasers." A bit like the solictors i've seen who drive around the shopping centres in an old ambulance all painted up with "no win no fee" written all over it.

Probably! These companies charge a fortune for this money and it's just not worth it for those of us in IVA.

Or even a completed IVA to pay out for something you can do yourself.

To make a claim for PPI etc after having thousands written off in a IVA is a bit too cheeky for me and does not sit right.

Totally agree.... would never dream of claiming PPI. Just so grateful to have been given the chance of a debt free fresh start.

Thats exactly how I feel. To claim PPI just feels the wrong thing to do. I was interested in the clearing up the credit file part. I'll now look into doing this myself.
Im hopeless at doing things like this so if anyone can point me in the right direction would be fantastic.

Don't pay them for this.

Take a look through the following: http://iva.co.uk/forum/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=183

First step would be to get hold of your 3 Credit Reports from Equifax, Experian and Call Credit. You can do this online at £2 per report or sign up for their free trials.

Next would be to ensure the IVA is marked as completed with a completion date.

Any defaults are marked as Partially Satisified or Satisified, have zero balances, and have a settlement date.

The Most important date for all defaults is the ORIGINAL DEFAULT DATE, ensure this is on or before the date your IVA was agreed. If it is after this date you should use the standard letters to get them to either remove the default, (If you cannot find the original default notice they may do this). Or have them correct it to show that the same date as your IVA was agreed.
