Hi everyone, have a question about unsolicited IVA letters from Consumer Support Agency. I received one of these today, are they just fishing for information/business??
I've ripped it up already as my IP DFD told me to ignore anything like this. Just thought I'd ask as I'm curious what these companies are really after?
Best wishes.
Jackie

Hi Jackie
You have done the right thing by ignoring it. They have trawled the Insolvency Register and have no idea of your circumstances. They want to 'assist' you to go bankrupt and will charge you a lot of money for doing so.
If you have problems then your IP should be your first port of call.

they really aren't worth the paper they're printed on and you did right to put it in the bin. Any problems contact your IP in the first instance.

Thanks guys, I'll continue to ignore them in that case!!
I think I've somehow managed to create two profiles on here (jackie.dd and jackieg), any tips on how I can sort this, can I just delete one of them?

Hi Jackie - You did the right thing in ripping up the letter. Unfortunately you are likely to continue receiving these types of letters but please ignore them.
Thanks

Trouble is when they use the title "Consumer Support Agency" - it make the company seem offical(sound like a goverment agency) - pity you ripped the letter up - as you could have sent the OFT for investigating.

Good point ginger, wouldn't be surprised if I get more so I'll keep the next one and send it to OFT (as well as ignoring it completely), these companies remind me of vultures circling with £ signs in their eyes, I used to think the same of Right to Buy finance companies also when I worked in that line - they'd offer tenants services they had to pay for that were otherwise free through their housing association!!!
Still relatively new to the world of IVA so thought I'd better check...

Wasn't this letter, by any chance was it :
From Consumer Support Agency
St John's House
54 St John's Square
London
EC1V 4JL
Freephone
Tel:
'Important Information' [in red]
'we refer to the IVA..................'
'Please call us on freephone number at earliest convenience.
'We have important info concerning legislative and compensation issues you should be aware of as a consequence of a recent High Court ruling by Judge Quesley'
'etc...........'
They are, apparently PPI claims chasers and have nothing interesting to say.
**I've removed the telephone numbers in case people contact them thinking they are being recommended by the forum**

Kim -- no point -- I have no PPI to claim back -- don't believe in it. I look forward to your replies to my last post.
