Hi Jane, a huge welcome from me. The hardest part of the journey is admitting the problem in the first place and seeking help. You have done this so give yourself a big pat on the back for that. Working on the theory that your situation has been thoroughly researched, your I/E calculated accuratley and all unsecured debts included then you can be assured that your application will have the best possible chance of success. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Take care

hi jane i hope it goes well for you x
use the forum because it really is a godsend even 3 years later im probably the most appalling member because of my sporadicness !! but the guys are still here for me and yesterday i realised that i still need this site more than ever i was working the day of my meeting but i was on here almost 24/7 in the week leading up to it. the panicking and wobbly feelings will not go away til its over then the relief comes. all i can say is keep active, busy anything to distract yourself and come on here loads xxxxx fd[:o)]

Put your faith in your IP and try not to worry too much (easier said than done!!). I'm sure you'll be fine as creditors will see you've put your best offer forward. Good luck x

Not long to go Jane - your IP would not be putting forward your proposal unless they were certain it would be accepted.,

Look forward to a positive post next week.

hi, 5 days to go, ive re-named it judgement day!!!! if my iva is accepted...could any of you tell me if i will still be able to keep my current account with the bank. i dont owe them any money and it is just used for wages going in and direct debits going out, mortgage, council tax etc.

Hi Jane
dont worry as everybody says easy to say not easy to do But trust in the Hippo coz he knows you will be fine and if not then you can give my tail a pull and you know Hippos do not like that so thats how confident I am
Look at this way in a few days you will be on the right road and as your IVA company has put you to the meeting stage its pretty odds on you are accepted the other way is they get no money back at all :)

if you can I would open another basic bank account now have a read through the forum for a good choice and a bank you dont owe money to via cards or loans That way you have an alternative if you have to close your current bank account for some reason
Anyhoo stay strong and just wait for the phone call that say yes :) and then you can pop back here and send this Hippo a nice apple ok

Hi Jane,

I bob in and out of this forum occaisionally, its nice to see so many other people in the same position as myself. Its not easy at first but you get used to living without your plastic jesus. Hang in there time does come around quickly, i'm amost over my 1st year and nearing my 1st review. My advise is to put a little some thing away each month so that you have a nest egg for those things that will crop up. Will will get used to being a cash only family, the good thing is, is that your more careful with your money because of this.
