Hi just wondered if anyone knew the answer to a query - I work as a secretary in a GP practice and have been asked by another practice to work for them for a few hours a wekk whils their scretary is in hospital. Just wondered how this extra income would be treated i.e same rules as overtime?. I am of course going to get in touch with my IVA company but just wondered if anyone knew the answer in the meantime. Thanks Nicola

I think it may be treated like that but your ip is the best one to advise.

Hi Nicola
The answer is yes. Any extra money you earn will be treated in the same way as overtime. You are doing the right thing letting your IP know about it. You never know, if the extra is relatively small it is not beyond the realms of possibility that your IP will simply allow you to keep it. It depends on the amount you are talking about.
