Well to say im amazed is an understatement. Finished my IVA in June this year. Its still on my file but shows as settled. Throughout the IVA i've been saving what i can with a credit union. On the off chance i enquired if they would finance a new car. After an open and honest talk about the IVA the loan has been approved. They state they look at affordability not past history and the fact i kept regular payments with my IVA shows i can easily afford the monthly payments.

Well about 3 hours ago thought it was a Vauxhall Insignia until the dealer rang me and stated the information on the internet was wrong. In fairness i should have known it was to good a deal. Will just be nice to have a reliable car

AW - that disappointing - but there are load of others out there - take you time and get something you really want - after 5 years in a IVA - see it as your treat!!!

Good news Adders. If the repayment is less than your IVA payment was, you'll still feel better off!

What are you getting in the end ? ... hmmm .. that's didn't come out as I meant it ....

try again ...

What car are you eventually getting ?

Well done Adder, good luck with your new car and just shows that common sense prevails here, the fact that you have lived on a budget and paid back whatever each month is testimony to being committed. xxx
