hi
we have been in an iva with payplan creditors meeting was the 2nd november and was accepted we paid that day.
we both have cars but have been told I need 4 new tyres and an exhaust and service and my partners needs car tax service and brakes, and to top it all tonight the freezer has stopped, so need a new one
my question is what do you think our chances of a payment holiday for one month would be so we can sort some of the above out
many thanks in anticipation to replies[:(]

hi, I had similar happen to me (although with a boiler) straight after my IVA was accepted. I would definitely talk to payplan as I'm guessing you've not had the chance (like me) to build up a contingency fund yet from allowances. x

I agree, chat to your IP at Payplan, the idea is that you don't struggle every month, so things like this will need to be talked about !

Talk to payplan. And shop around for tyres as the price difference can be amazing!!

Things will go wrong during an iva so dont worry about it!!

I think you should be ok to ask.for a payment break, we all have things happen and least once it is sorted you should be ok for a while.

As regards the freezer, have you thought about Freecycle? It would be one less expense.

thanks for the replys
I have spoken to payplan and they arnt keen on a payment break as we have only paid x1,they said maybe miss one payment and get the work done send in receipts and then payments would be increased for the coming months to compensate missed payment
so will have to think again!!

if you dont know the garage that told you need all this try some other garage.
I repair cars and I cant think of one I've seen that needed all 4 tyres and an exhaust at the same time.
front ware out before back,so as long as ok for road, put front onto back and two new on front.
Some year ago I went into a garage for one new tyre.
they came back saying I need £300 of work done.
I had only replaced that part the month before.
