Hi guys, I am having problems with Experian refusing to lodge a dispute regarding our IVA. It ended on 18th August (according to Certificate of Completion from IP) and although Equifax and Callcredit show it as discharged, Experian is refusing to change their records. Does anyone know how to resolve this as it seems not even the IP has been able to budge them.

What is their reason for not updating records? The information commissioner may be a good next move, google them for details.

Send them a copy of your completion letter, insist they change it or you will take matters further,

They have been given the completion letter but are insisting of a letter from the courts.

No you don't. It's just the letter from your ip. I'd insist on speaking to someone higher up.the food chain as the person you have been speaking to obviously doesn't have a clue.

I know - my poor Relationship Manager from the IP is pulling his hair out as all the big creditors like Natwest, Santander, Egg and Barclay Card are still showing us as "NOT SATISFIED" as well. Despite me using the letter on here and sending through the certificate. I am at the end of my tether as we have struggle through the last 5 and a half years and now it is the one problem after the other.

We seem to be having the same problem with experian too. Trying to get my husbands IVA removed from his file. I have sent a second letter to them now, and allowing for the 28 days they have to reply, they have until the end of December. If I get no joy then, I will be definately be writing to the ICO.

Kaykay, they may not reply so it would be worth checking your report again before contacting the ICO. I know it's slightly different as I was contacting my creditors directly, but a couple of them amended my file but didn't reply to my letter. Give them 28 days plus an extra couple of weeks to allow for the file to be updated and then check it again.

I'm having exactly the same problem. Just written to the data controller at experian for a final response before referring to the iCO. Equifax also added a note of correction to my file to state IVA LISTED AT XXX COUNTY COURT COMPLETED ON XXX DATE. I have applied to have this notice of correction removed otherwise it will stay on there forever. It seems updating credit files is a slow process. Funnily enough they are quick enough to default though. Threatening letter followed by report to ICO is your best bet, but it is a slow process.
