Having just got the proposals back for my IVA,I have noticed that some of the expediture on the budget is either:

A) Not needed and no longer relevant
B) I query some figures
C) My pay figure doesnt include contractual additional payments that don't change
D) They have included my student loan in the net pay- when my sudent loan is a deduction AND they got the wrong figure to the one shown on my payslips!

Can they send a new proposal out with ammended figures?

Hi sammy,

Speak to Payplan tomorrow and explain it to them. They can amend a proposal.

Do they just type it out and send another one Kallis?

I have been able to streamline my professional fees alot

At the moment I pay no pension or union fees- will they have to see my february payslip before they can add these?

Also there is a pay cut coming in April and one proposed to happen nearer the end of the year!

I presume they do.

Let them know about the fees.

Will you be paying union and pension soon? You do need to ask as pension contributions may not be allowed if you're not already paying them.

The paycuts will probably be dealt with as soon as you know what they are.

Let them know but they probably wont act until the pay cuts actually happen. Remember dont streamline things down to a level which is going to make life impossible for you.

I let them know I wasn't with the Union and Pension already and they were alright about that. They did ask for prood of the fees though. I sent back a membership form highlighting £14 which is what will be deducted and I said that I would ring the pensions team and get it sorted right away.

I will be contacting the pension scheme and getting an estimate from them too. Which will surfice as proof until I am able to send them my actual payslip with the deductions on...

That's fine then if you are already making the contributions.

Just make sure that everything else is sorted before you sign the proposal.

Well I can't exaggerate things- as they would know.

They didn't give me allowance for meals at work which I requested. And they didn't give me allowance for hobbies which which I also asked for. Does anyone know what these come under in payplan?

They did give me a "contingency"- but I assume that is for when things break down or for any variance in

They also said that my mobile and landline expenditure at £30 and £40 would be seen as excessive. What do they want?! That is what I spend!

Also £20 for health and for dental and prescriptions? 24 is more like it!

No I am not making the contributions yet- but I told my case officer that. Always was honest about it...

Hey sammy

sounds like you're having a bit of a nightmare there, it's obviously bad timing all these things changing just when you're setting up your IVA. It's very important to get this right though so that your IVA starts off on the right foot. When is the pay cut due and is it for a lot? If it's happening very soon then personally I would have thought it made sense to involve it in the proposal now rather than potentially get it agreed then 2 months down the line have to have a vaiation meeting if the agreed monthly payments have to be dramatically dropped. All depends how much the drop in pay actually is. Speak to them tomorrow and ensure everything is correct and written down properly in your mind then sign it and only then as it's a 5 year agreement so get it right :D.

Good luck again and hopefully will see you posting soon that it's all resolved. From your posts you have fallen in the common and understandable trap of getting yourself into a panic over it all. Try and calm down and then revisit the paperwork once your head is calmer so that you don't miss anything or make an error in your anxious state of mind.

Sammy I note Jan has said speak to payplan. You could go onto payplanplus & amend your budget online & send a secure message which goes straight to your case officer. I find this is the most prompt response & it's in writing so can form a paper trail and evidence if required in future. I found phone calls are good but secure messages & emails with admin staff at payplan are best.

The first pay cut is actually confirmed. I know that my contractual saturday working premiums will halve.

The second pay cut is under consultation for 90 days so is still being agreed on.

I'm not touching the budget in payplan plus as there are omissions and things I would like to be taken off and adding. I will have to leave that to them.

I never get answers to any of my emails. My case officer doesn't eveb bother...

You need to speak to your case officer to sort out the proposal - it's no good doing via Payplan plus, you need a human to speak to and your officer should be available to you.

If you are not happy with Payplan then there is still time to change to another company.
