I need to get a valuation on our property, what's the best way to ask for one so I can get it free. There's no way I could aford to pay valuation fees.

I found just asking a local estate agent. I was pretending to sell, made it easier by saying I was moving out of the area. If you try and no one will give you a written quote then your IVA company will arrange for one & pay for it out of the pot of your payments.

And remember to get a quick sale valuation - you do not one that makes itl oook like there is equity in your jouse that there really isn't without sitting on the market for a year. Its best to get a couple to compare as they can vary dramatically.

That's what I did - had no problem with a free valuation and managed to get it in writing as well.
