Hi,

I completed my IVA early and the 6 years during which the IVA remains on my credit record are up in a few months.

However, I shortly will need to find a new property to rent and therefore am enquirying if my IVA will cause me any problems when the letting agency undertakes a credit reference check?

Many thanks for your help.

Although the IVA will dropp off your credit file you wil probably stil;l have a very low credit score which may cause problems as many agents have a minimum score otherwise they usualy ask for a gauranto or 6 months money up front.

Have you checked what your credit score is etc?

While it is still on your record it will potentially go against you in the crediit check, it would be worth being upfront with the letting agent as they charge for credit checks and you would still have to pay for it even if you fail it. If they know about it they might not bother checking if they know already you would fail, and tell you straight away there is no chance or if there is a way around it. Once it falls off your record when the 6 years ar eup it should be fine
