Hi, this is not really a question, but just wanted to say i am waiting for my proposals to arrive so i can sign and return, am just a bit nervous about the wait to see if i get accepted and worried in case any balliffs turn up at my home. ive had quite a few letters off the bank and the most recent talked about taking me to court. just want someone to tell me not to worry!! x

Don't worry !!!
Seriously, it is very rare that bailiffs turn up, and if they do, are generally not the ogres they are usually made out to be. Pass any letters on to your IP and keep them in the loop. If court action is pending they can make an interim order to get it stopped while the IVA is being prepared.
Communication with your IP is vital at this stage, ask any questions and discuss any worries, don't let things fester.
Reason for edit ---- adding missing P's ---- didn't want to keep the "I in the loo too long" !!!!

Hi Claire,
Your feelings are perfectly normal but please don't worry.
Bailiffs are highly unlikely to turn up - even debt collectors rarely visit.
Look at this link to see what they can and can't do:

Basic Rule - Don't open the door to them and usually they write and I always advise people to talk to them on the phone.

I just got accepted today...I had letters threatening court from a debt collection agency, I did what everyone on here advised and sent them to my IP...I kept curtains shut and phone unplugged..I used to check for strange cars as I returned home...I was so scared but nothing happened...My IVA took a while too due to Christmas and new year etc All i can say is try and be strong and post on here Everyone is so kind it really helps ...

It's unlikely that anyone will turn up. Debt collectors are usually quite polite and will go away if you tell them you are going for an IVA.
You can safely ignore them though. They have no powers at all.
