Hi, are abbey national (santander) good at accepting IVA. the majority of my debt is with them although this is a joint debt with my ex husband and i understand they will chase him for the balance. Debt company offering 11p/£? Also i have a phone contract which will cost me 600 to cancel. will the creditors happily allow me to let the contract run its course?
Thanks x

Hi Lisa,
Firstly, they won't chase your ex for the balance, they will chase him for the full the amount as you are jointly liable for the loan.
I've not heard anything recently about there being any problems with Santander rejecting. You are obviously putting your best offer forward.
As regards your phone, if you are continuing to make the monthly payments then that will be allowed to run. A lot of us have contract mobiles. It's an allowable expense.
Which company are you with?

Santander didn't vote at all in our proposals, but continued to send statements afterwards adding interest and issuing defaults each month, although they seem to have got the message now.

In my experience, Santander are a very supportive creditor.

Hi Lisa - Santander accepted my IVA proposal @ 17p and have also just accepted the f&f offer of 15p in the £.
As Jan has said, as long as within recommended guidelines, you shouldn't have a problem with the phone.
Good luck with the proposal - let us know how it goes!
