Hi,
I completed my IVA in Dec 09. however when checking my credit report one of my old creditors, barcleycard are showing that i have a default. I have sent a letter with a copy of my completion certificate to their credit controller and am waiting to hear back about removing this default. However when checking my credit report with equifax i found a paragraph that saie, Equifax confirms that IVA court number....Date ED 25/08/04 is no longer registered in the insolvency service records effective from 11/12/09. Equifax are unable to confirm if this IVA was completed or failed. What does this mean and how do I get them to show it was completed?

Hi Joanne,

Did your IVA run the full course or did you do a full and final. If the former then send a copy of your completion letter to Equifax and tell them to remove the entry. If it was the latter then you will have to wait for six years from the date of the IVA for it to drop off the record.

Hi Joanne. It sounds as though your IVA was completed. You may be able to add a notice of correction - Equifax should be able to advise you further.

Hi

Really all records of your IVA should be off your credit report if started in 2004, I wonder how long the notice will be on your file for ?

its sound as if you done the right thing and written to the creditor controller at Barclaycard - once you have given them enough time and they still dont amend the default details to need to write to the information commissoner.(enclosing copies of all you communications)

The fact the IVA has been removed from the insolvency service - and you have a completetion certificate - everything sounds normal - and the way it should be.

you could also sent equifax a copy of your completetion certificate and ask them to update your file
