Hi Gambler - once it has come off your credit record which is 6 years from the start date of your IVA.

Hi gambler and welcome to the IVA forum.
As Tina has said your IVA will come off your file 6years after your IVA was approved.
There is no harm in credit checking yourself to check that all the information is correct and no defaults have been added after your IVA was approved.
If a default was added after your IVA approval potentially it can affect your credit rating for longer than necessary. If this is the case you can write to the lender requesting they ammend their records.
You can get your credit report for £2 from the 3 main credit reference agencies.
After you have completed your IVA you can send proof of your completion certificate to all the lenders whose debts were included in your IVA.
Those lenders should then mark the entry on your credit reference file to show that you no longer owe money on that account (perhaps by marking the entry as ‘partially satisfied’ or ‘partially settled’ or in some other way).
Once the lender has changed the information on the entry, if you make any new credit applications the prospective lender will be able to see that you do not owe any more money on that account.
If the lender refuses to change the date of the default or mark it as ‘satisfied’ or ‘settled’ or to indicate in another way that you have fulfilled your obligations to that lender then you can write to us at: Information Commissioner, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

"After you have completed your IVA you can send proof of your completion certificate to all the lenders whose debts were included in your IVA" Don't our ip's do this before they send us the completion Certificate?

They do.tell the creditors as obviously they will be paying the final dividend.
However, a lot of creditors do continue to default throughout the iva and it is our responsibility to get them to remove those defaults.

Sometimes creditors are not very quick at updating the credit reference agencies and this can result in information held by them being inacurate.
Sending the completion certificate along with a letter asking them amend the entry under the Data Protection Act will give them a bit of a nudge.
Although as IP's we will send the completion certificate to creditors it is not part of our duty to ask them to ammend credit files.

I did the statutory credit report from experian for the princely sum of £2.00 I tried equifax for one but it point blank refused my debit card but I bet it wouldn't for the monthly £15.00 fee!
And I found a few creditors had not sent in statisfied and zero out the balance and that there no end date to my IVA. So I asked the insolvancy registar what the deal is. They update the credit agencies on a monthly basis re the IVA, but it more or less gets ignored and they don't know why!
I'd like to know if anyone else has tried equifax for the £2.00 online statutory credit report?

I tried for the £2 report but also would not accept the debit card, but now I do need to check on something with this as while using the same debit card for something else I also got card not accepted so was curious to see if the way it was typed in made a difference and it did. But I need to try it for equifax to see if the same happens.
On the other site I first typed it out with spaces and would not accept so took out spaces and went straight through. Strange as usually if they don't want spaces it gives you a limited number of character spaces to put in. Maybe the same with equifax, spaces or no spaces.
I'll have to check unless someone beats me to it and says what the deal is with their site.

0871 works as well and yes I now have an online acivate credit report
and account all for £2.00 bargin
below is how the two differ so it's worth checking all three
Exprian IVA still open 1 x credit card default but much to suprise Max Recovery settled (they did have some bad press)
Equifax IVA completed 2 x credit card defaults and again Max recovery
settled
Only a couple of months and six years will have passed so might as well just wait and then check for a clean slate
