TOday had letter from dfd regarding vat issue has any none esle had one? form what ive read if correct it seems theres another 3months to wait that for me will be more than 7mths since last payement and keeping me in limbo i want closure and be safe in the knowledge im finally free it seems that ips are quick enough to tell you when you must pay up or have problems with your payements . but with this i feel that the vat issue is being used to also prolong closuere regarding ppi issues

We got one this morning, going off their timescales it will be nearly eleven months since our last payment. Why could this not have been done sooner, but at least we know things are now moving.

by 12 months to go
I suppose the best way to look at this is progress.

I havn't had a letter today from DFD; hopefully it will come monday

i was expecting 3-6 months time for my completion certificate, so if the letter is indicating 3 months

Last payment made 13th April so 3 months would be mid-late July

everything is crossed

It will be worth waiting for and hopefully they'll arrive before the expected date and be a bonus. It can't be nice and when I finally get to the end I hope to get my certficiate of compliance sooner rather than later.

There is no correlation between the VAT issue and the pursing of PPI mis-sold claims. Whilst some firms may have taken the decision to close cases regardless, the firms who have chosen not to cannot be criticised as they are actually working within the guidance provided by our regulators.

Whilst I understand everyone's issues about these areas, the forum is starting to get blocked with the same old groans. Can we please just accept that some firms will close cases promptly and others won't. If this becomes a major issue, then the regulators may well have to revisit the advice already handed out - but in the meantime let's try and keep the forum a positive place for new posters to see the benefits of IVAs rather than the frustrations of some who probably have very little in reality to worry about.

Ive not had anything from them inw riting, i did speak with them last week who mentioned a grand variation form we can sign to speed up the process so the VAt issues can be dealt with later!

Im really hoping this isnt going to slow things down for poeple waiting to complete!

Declan - can you give us some explanation? seems to be some confusion!

Hi

I have been waiting 6 months for my completion certificate and have been told by DFD in a letter recently that a solution had been agreed with their legal advisors and HMRC over VAT Issues and are proceeding in closing cases. Our creditors will be approached and propose that they allow the case to be closed and that they can deal with HRMC outside of the arrangement.
A variation meeting is to be arranged within 28 days and once approved they will release a Completion certificate..
Hope this helps and puts at ease a lot of worry thats been playing on peoples minds through no fault of their own
