Hi Folks, hope your all well!

I finished my IVA after 5 years, paid everything that was due, and it was all sorted and I havent paid anything since.
My IVA finished a year ago and I still havent had a completion certificate!!

I have chased the matter 3 times and been told that its down to "reclaiming the VAT" and should be sorted soon.

As my IVA will be 6 years old in 3 weeks time is it essential I keep on pressing for a completion certificate as my IVA will vanish off my credit file in 3 weeks time anyway? Do I really need this certificate?

Also does your IVA vanish off your credit file exactly 6 years from the day it began?....or can it take days or weeks to get erased?

Thanks

The IVA will remain on your credit file for a minimum of 6 years.

If you have to wait longer for the completion certificate then it remains on your file until the IVA can be marked as completed. It's then down to the agencies to delete or mark as completed the public information when they are informed by the insolvency service.

sorry the IVA remains on the insolvency register until they are informed of its completion. Just edited my post above.

The CRAs though still apply. Minimum of 6 years.

Thanks....
I forgot the insolvency register and my credit file were seperate....I presumed it dropped off the insolvency register automatically after 6 years, it never occurred to me I still had to get it removed.

Hello,

It's not you that will get it removed from the Insolvency Register - as soon as your IP issues that completion letter they will let the Insolvency Service know. Until then it will remain on there.

IP informs Insolvency Service and they inform the 3 Credit Reference Agencies or that is how it's supposed to work.
