So checking my credit file IVA satisfied (good)
and most credit cards show satisfied as the same date as the IVA satisifed date (good)

But the odd one (credit card) and it's different for different credit agencies still show default date and with a outstanding balance, which is earlier than the IVA satisfied date(naturally)

My question is does the earlier dated defaulted credit ie showing with a oustanding balance drop off before the IVA and the later settled credit cards date?

However I went to my bank where I have a cash plus account and the bank manager said that settled or not untill that six years is up, your stuffed full stop, just cos it's there. I was asking for flex account so I could start an ISA 4.15% tch! also I didn't relaise not all debit cards are not the same, some come with restrictions!

So it is my conclusion that don't bother doing anything with your credit file untill six years is up (or one year from your completion date) on the basis if no is looking then after six years (other than those you defaulted on) no one will know!

What is more curious than anything i owed barclaycard 16k which was included in my IVA it's not been sold on like a few of the other credit cards I had, it does not appear on any of the three credit agency reports, any takers?

Defaults - These entries are deleted 6 years from when they were registered. They MUST be registered NO LATER THAN your start date for your IVA. It's good that you have them marked as Satisfied, it improves your file slightly in that the debt cannot be sold on as they have shown it as cleared. Don't worry about the satisfied date, it's the default date that counts though :-)

The IVA is marked as completed which is good, that will come off your credit file 6 years from when it started.

Old settled accounts remain on your credit file 6 years from when they were settled.

I'm surprised Barclaycard have not put a default on your credit file, but having said that it is down to them to do so. I would not wake that monster.

Matrix - I checked mine for the first time ever at the weekend.

2 creditors do not show defaults but 3 months late, and 6 months late (bizarre as payments stopped Feb 2011).

Do I write to these and ask them to mark a default for the IVA approved date?

Yes, any default date that is past the start date of the IVA should be back dated to the date of the IVA when you request it. Detailed guidance on this is published by the Information Commissioners Office ico.gov.uk

Rather than ring up you should either dispute the information with the relevent CRA(s) or write into the Data Controller for the relevant creditor.
