I am on an iva paying £152 a month with harrington brooks my partner recently moved in. He is not working and I am on min wage. My tax credits have been stopped and housing benefit due to going from single calim to joint. I can't afford bills and have a large vodafone bill now. Can I add this to my IVA. It might be a few weeks till my tax credits are sorted and I am in such a state about things crying right now. What do I do. I have £7 left of my wages to buy food and I dont get paid till next Friday.

Hello Sarah,
Have a word with your IP to see if they can help you sort things out, even with a short payment break if necessary.
How long have you been in your IVA and, if you don't own your own house, would bankruptcy be a possible option for you?

You should certainly get a short break while you look at what your new circumstances will be. The Vodaphone bill may well be a post IVA debt but would be a debt if you decided to petition for bankruptcy. Your IP should be able to advise further.

Hi Sarah and welcome to the forum
As others have said have a chat to your IP about a payment break.
Fingers crossed TC sort your claim out ASAP x

You do have to put your relationship with your new partner as a priority, and if he cannot contribute and this affects your ability to service your IVA then the relationship might be just worth it

Hi Sarah
Im so sorry to hear that you have been upset over all this, I complete understand what your going through and sometimes we all have a cry. Im sure like the other posters have said, if you have a talk with your IP something can be sorted out. We all need help at times and your IP will fully understand your current situation. I hope that you make that call soon and then you will feel a whole lot better, best wishes Rich x
