After 10 months waiting for C&C after the F&F last July we now have it in our hands. It has been a hard and tiring journey often having to say no to my children that needed new stuff, that was the hardest thing in the world. We can now hold our heads up as we fully paid back all that we owed and even received a refund and start to enjoy life with the family again(boy are they going to get spoilt!!!)
For all you people out there thinking about an IVA its worth it to have this feeling of complete freedom and soooooooooooo much happiness. Having learnt a harsh lesson over the last 5yrs we will never again go down that route.I will not lie it has been hard often having to go without things that people take for granted -days out, holidays, but we are now complete and all I can say is its holiday time
THIS FORUM HAS BEEN AMAZING AND I ONLY WISH I'D HAVE FOUND IT YRS AGO PLEASE KEEP POSTING AS YOU ARE HELPING SO MANY PEOPLE AND THANK YOU [:D]
Good luck to all still waiting for the sunshine to arrive your day will come and keep smiling

Hi
A lovely post and well done to you for getting through your IVA
It is a good reminder of how an IVA can change your life, and others around you, for the better once it completes.
Regards

Well done Ducky!
Yes, I'm in month 3 and already the worst thing by far is having to say no to my children. I try to think that once this is finished, I can then help my children out in a much more important time of thier lives, rather than buying them the latest must-haves now.
On the positive side, it is much nicer knowing that everything is paid up each month and I'm not continually trying to rob Peter to pay Paul!
Enjoy your new found freedom.

Loads a Debt- yes it is very hard!!!! but if they have your love and attention which costs nothing they will learn that money doesn't grow on trees and even though they cant have the latest must haves you can teach them the value of money. If they are old enough get them to earn treats/pocket money and save for what they want as they will learn where we didn't, my two are now so responsible with money as we have been open and honest with them hoping we have taught them a valuable lesson.
Good luck its worth it in the end.
