Seems to me that apart from healty debate the forum is being used to score points on certain topics. Not so sure that this is helping or hindering but, i am sure that this not not what the forum was intended for (though some of the comments are quite entertaining, in a toe curling fashion)So carrying on the unhelpful posts here's one , why dont all the people in an IVA or DMP (and i mean everyone) just chuck it in say no we are not paying anything, do your worst, we,ve hade enough, Then sit back and see how the system copes. Banks and even whole countries get bailed out and, those most responsible still get paid massive bonuses or, stay in power. Think about it!!

It's a nice idea. But most people were driven into a debt solution and didn't exactly volunteer for one. I think if they tried your idea - even collectively - the system and circumstance would soon ensure they were driven back. Perhaps I need to give it more thought. What's your thinking on how that would pan out ?

Most people who enter into voluntary arrangements do so because they want to repay their creditors and not negate their responsibilities.
Not sure what this has to do with the issue you have highlighted in the first sentence of your posting however.

The forum is here to support, offer advice and friendship to people going through difficult times, entering into Iva's, deciding which way to turn, considering bankruptcy, or having finished their journey wanting to hold onto some reality.
The forum is Massive support for everybody and one that so many would be lost with out.

I agree, collectively it would never happen and that's a shame.people nowadays are frightened of their own shadow by the powers that be. Still think it would cause chaos in the financial sector, insolvevency is fast becaoming Britains major growth industry

Iamfubb, what's your own take on the 'style' debate you mentioned - apart from the 'toe-curling' entertainment ? is it just some like me rubbing up people the wrong way or is it maybe the issues touching a nerve ?

Never mentioned anything about "style"(please read it properly)On your last two points, i reckon you delight in a bit of Bear-baitng. And as for touching a nerve, you might get to some people but i am a pachyderm. Regards iamfubb2[:D]

Personally I believe that the Forum provides both support and a platform to offload - both through posting and by writing a blog. I may not visit it as much as I did in the early days but am happy to have it as a crutch if sometimes things are overwhelming. Of course it is important to evaluate all the information that you receive..just as you would in everyday life. Many people who are in debt really do want to pay as much back as they possibly can. Life is far too short to waste time scoring points or curling your toes..Ouch!

Iamfubb, I was just trying to get you to expand on your point but, never mind, it seems there wasn't one.

Hi
With some regret I am going to retire TigerTiger from the forum, however I have invited him to return as a professional poster with his true identity disclosed to all.
I have to say that I found the points that he raised very interesting but have to look at the wider picture and the need to keep the forum friendly and approachable, it has become a little like "Question Time" as a poster pointed out a few days ago
Regards

Nice try, if you can't see the point "never mind" [:D]

I hope Tiger comes back as he often raised pertinent points and could be an asset to the Forum. I certainly could have had a few beers with him/her and chatted through all the issues but that is not what the Forum is about.

Yes, Michael, the written word often doesn't come across as the writer intended and is always better understood over a shared libation

Sorry Foggy but I am not sharing my libations with anyone! There are limits....
