Hi, This is the first time i have raised a question but i have been reading the forum fo rthe ast couple of months. I ma currently going through an IVA with the CCCS and have just recd my draft proposal. I am a bit concerned as they have included £180 that i owed my gas company from my last bill. This was due to me under paying during winter. I now pay extra each month to cover this but the CCCS have included this in the IVA. I dont want to go onto a payment meter as i have read that my gas company will force me onto this. I just want to know if this needs to be included in my proposal.

Hi Chris
If they are you current supplier and you have made an arrangement with them i see no reason why they have to be included as a creditor.
Most people are usually in arrears with utilites as you make up for winter use in the summer
Have a chat with them and see if they will remove the gas bill

I have a similar situation -- paying monthly I always go into the red over the winter and catch up in the summer -- my company didn't include this in my debts, as it is part of the normal billing routine. I would imagine this is the case with many who pay a fixed amount each month, as the repayments are based on annual consumption.

My thoughts exactly Foggy
If they install a pre payment metre this would push up the monthly cost for fuel so counterproductive as the creditor will get less in monthly contributions

Hi Chris.84 - you can request that this be removed from your list of creditors as it will adversely affect you and should not have been included. Maybe they got confused and thought it was from a previous supplier. If the debt has been included and the higher monthly payment is included in your expenses they are double counting it anyway. It woudl be unfair to be forced to have a meter so reuqest it is remoed and if they don't remove it don't sign your proposal and seek further help.
Let us know how you get on.

Hi Everyone, thanks for your answers. I have successfully got this removed and now my proposal has a higher rate for creditors. I have signed it and sent it back just now to wait for my creditors meeting to be arranged. I must say this forum has been so helpful to me through the process. Thanks again.
