I have successfully completed my IVA and have received the certificate of completion from Grant Thornton. I sent a copy of this to Experian and my credit report has subsequently been updated to show it completed. My question is whether it is my responsibility to contact all the creditors on my report as the accounts still show as default? Hope you can help.

Yes - you will need to contact the creditors concerned, but this is usually a speedy process and your file should soon be updated for you.

Hi Chris - congrats on the completion! Writing to either the data controller or the complaints department at your lenders should get your default backdated to the date the iva was accepted. x

Many thanks for the feedback and I will indeed contact the various creditors requesting they change my default status. Aside from this, is there anything else I should now do in order to start working on building my credit profile once again?

Hello,
Make sure that your bank acount/mobile phone/mortgage (if appropriate) is up to date, take out a credit card such as Vanquis (make sure you pay it off in full every month). All of this will help towards your credit rating.
