well the OR will be ringing me in a few days,im already i hope with my stack of paperwork at my side ready for their questions, ive sent a load of paperwork back they sent me to sign, can i account for every penny of my debt no sure about that one,i have a few credit card statements missing must have shreaded them? anyway ive got a few questions to ask them myself as well so hopefully all not one sided,im now on the insolvency register that was a shocker seeing that i can tell you,any pointers on what NOT to say may be helpful or what i should say
my personal health regarding my ear problems has most proberly made me bankrupt and the OR knows nothing about my recent operation which kept me from work for another 3 weeks,i feel that most of my debt was unforseen and beyond my control i hope they see it that way regards to all terry

Just tell them the truth - if they need to know anything else they can make their own enquiries.

I'm sure it will be ok.

I can imagine that you are nervous to take the call. However, others will have done this and may be along soon to give some good advice. Answer their questions as comprehensively as you can and I'm sure all will be fine.

All the best and again let us know how it goes as your journey will definitely help someone else.

Hi

Dont worry too much about it When I had my phone call interview the guy on the phone was super helpful and was on my side and told me a few things that I was allowed that I hadnt thought about. You can only do your best and this is just a part of the set up process and a month or so from now you will be on your way a lot more settled
stay positive and you will be fine

I'm sure LucyLou's post has reassured you and I hope you get an equally supportive person on the phone. x

The only advice I can give you is to answer the questions honestly - if you don't know the answer to a question just say so. Also make sure you've got copies of all your paperwork to hand and that you've got a glass of water.

a glass of water/glass of wine,im all ready now and i shall record the phone call mainly for myself as the tax and N.I part will be a little bit complicated but im sure all will be ok,funnily im a lot carmer and less stressed since going bankrupt,i keep thinking a bit like being in prison 1 year from now ill be out,no debt no credit cards no loans,no nasty letters coming through the door and a massive life lesson learnt on the value of money, robbing peter to pay paul will never work

I think the glass of water would be better until after the interview is over!!!

I take it that you're not likely to get an IPA/IPO terry? Do you have DI over £20 a month?

no IPA/PO my DI a month is minus £120

If you intent to tape the call Terry I do believe you have to let the other party know.

Lesley is right - you do have to let the other party know.

How are you going to manage with a deficit of that amount?

Good luck Terry and do ensure the OR knows it is being taped - recently had a case of "taping" at work and it caused no end of issues around data protection etc.

The OR will want to know how you intend to manage when you have a deficit.

Can you not take notes rather than record the call?

im only going to record it because as i dont hear very well,i will be able to go back over the tape, answer to niobe about the lack of cash,my partner and family will help, untill im fully fit again to go back to work properly, that may happen it may not

Just make sure that you tell them that you are recording it.

As long as you can manage on the lack of money - will they be able to sustain you long term if you can't go back?
