I completed an IVA with Grant Thornton in January 2012 (it actually ran for 6 years and not the standard 5)and have still yet to receive a letter of completion, multiple attempts to contact GT and no call backs and when I do get through they just tell me there is a backlog. I really need this completion letter it should be gone from my credit file now and have to send this to equifax to get it removed. Do you have any advise on what I can do?
Thanks

Hello and welcome. I am afraid there are enormous backlogs at GT, however, some certificates are emerging. There is every chance that GT will still be looking to claiming PPI and / ot bank charge refunds, which will delay matters further. I do believe though, that they are offering people the chance to sign declarations satating that there are no refunds due and that the debtor will not claim refunds in the future. This allows the certificate to be issued sooner, rather than later. However, there is still that backlog !!!

So frustrating. Experian have cleared the IVA but equifax still have it on there and I didn't even realise. I have contacted equifax but I am sure without a letter of completion they are not going to remove it!

So finally got through to customer services and apparently there has been a problem with my final review (from january!!!!!) and this has only just been brought to light when I contacted them recently!?!?!
It gets better though, so not only haven't they noticed this for almost 8 months but now they are saying that after this problem has been sorted it will be a further 6 months before it is closed!!!!! hahahaha amazing customer service that. I am speechless

Hi Adam - I know you are speechless but when you have got your power of speech back do go back and ask why 6 months is needed from this point, I do not understand why it should take so long?
Let us know how you get on.

You aren't alone in your plight, I've been waiting since September, it's taken a fair amount of emails, phone calls etc but have finally got answers and a time frame for my CoC.
Don't lose heart, keep on emailing and calling, you could always make an official complaint.
Good luck

Thanks all. I can honestly understand if there was an issue with my final review these things happen.
What I cant understand is that if there was an issue, why was no attempt to contact me made and for customer services to then say that it will be a further 6 months after the issue has been rectified is just not acceptable.
I will find out what the issue is get this resolved and then work from there. At least I finally got through to customer services, silver lining and all that.......

Morning,
I have just joined the IVA forum as I am becoming increasingly frustrated at my IVA (which I finished paying off in Dec 2010) still not being closed.
By now I had hope to have had a good start in rebuilding my credit but alas haven’t managed to get anywhere.
My understanding is that the delays have been caused by GT paying out too much to one creditor in error and have been chasing for the money to be repaid ever since.
Please could someone come back to me in regard to this as soon as possible.

What can anyone expect from this God awful company? We have been told it could take 6 months for certificate since we have been told our closure was over a year in the making!! Why Oh why we did not go bankrupt and say sod our creditors? We decided to give back as much as possible and now it's all over along comes GRANT THORNTON and ****s on us.

Well I would love to find out what the issue is with my final review but lo and behold no communication from GT!!!! Can barely get through to customer services and when you do its the same inane drivel read from a script. No response on emails either.
Equifax and callcredit wont remove this from my credit file without a certificate of completion. So what exactly can any of us do apart from complain on a forum.
To be honest I couldn't give a monkeys how busy (not a dig at anyone here) they are this is beyond ridiculous, some people have been waiting almost a year. I am coming up to 8 months with still no communication from them. Whats worse is the fact that they say there has been an issue with my final review, well thanks for contacting me to tell me so I can remedy it.
Is there no one that GT can be reported to?? There must be something to protect us from this.
