Hi all, have put this post in 2 places as was unsure where to put it! We have successfully completed our IVA last year, and it dropped off our credit reports in December 2011. Have checked all the credit reference agencies and both of our credit reports are clean now, and we have good scores. We want to buy a house, and was wondering if anybody has had any success getting a mortgage after IVA completion. We are currently saving for a deposit and have 10% at the minute. Is it best to go to a broker? Also, has anybody had any experience of buying a new build home, using newbuy scheme or shared equity scheme?

Thanks

I would suggest a broker and advise them of the IVA. They should then be able to recommend which lender is the most appropriate.

Ryan who posts here seems to have had success with other posters so he may be worth a call. Hopefully he can sort you out.

Hi,

We have succesfully obtained mortgages for people who have previously in been IVA's.

This is a specialst area, so you would need to speak to a broker who has experience with this.
I would be happy to advise you if you would like to get in touch directly
