I currently have an IVA, what will be the effect on this arrangement if I get married? As my fiance and I do not live together at the moment, once we marry my council tax would increase by approx £20 a month, I would lose my working tax credit and receive less child tax credit (total loss of approx £60 per week). My future husband is currently on Incapacity benefit at the rate of £110 per week. I don't want to reduce my monthly payments to my IVA but would they have to increase based on this information?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Your IP will be best placed to go through your I&E with you and a fresh one will be required.

Don't put your life on hold, if you want to get married then do so and I wish you all the happiness you deserve. Do chat to your IP and explain everything and I'm sure they'll reassure you. Good luck x

Hi Lisa, as Lesley suggest, discuss it with your IP or case administrator.

If you are moving in with your future husband and know his income and outgoing, you could compare your current IVA income and expenditure with a new one based on living together and have this ready when you contact your IVA company. Good luck!
