Hi,
a friend of mine would like to as present pay me off the last year of IVA payments. What shall I do? Can I make an offer which is not the entire ammount left to pay but just half? it is about £210 per month.
There any other expensis for this request to include?
Thank you

Hi Mas39 - what a lovely friend you have! The answer is you can ask for any offer to be put forward however it needs to be sensible one to not waste your time and add delay. The creditors will want as close to what the would have got had you gone full term or there needs to be good justification why they should accept less. The should be no other fees involved but check with your own IP as only they can confirm their own practices.
Let us know how you get on.

It can also depend on your circumstances, how long into the IVA you are and the amount.
Some wont go for it if its more worth their while just waiting and getting the dividend previously agreed.
As above it has to be a sensible offer

I was extending my IVA for two more during the 2009 cause i lost my job and partner,so i was close to loose my flat too. But thnx to god I saved it and took out from the IVA agreement. So I agreed to have 7 years of IVA payments. I ve got left only 14th months to write off all my debts, which is £2940 but my friend he told me that his present is only £2000. Do you think is worth to make this offer?
Thank you

It will depend on your IP but put the offer to them and see what they say, you've got nothing to loose.
Good Luck

It may not be worth anyones's while to make an offer of settlement when an IVA is in its final year - but do chat this through with your IP as they may be happy to help you with this.
