Hi all,
Literally just had a text come though as follows:
Sarah Drowning in debt? Clear Debt can reduce your monthly payment or help you write off much of what you owe. Reply INFO for details or STOP to optout
They have my name !!!!!!
I am NOT impressed !

No I wouldn't be either, I keep getting emails from Clark Richards telling they can give me an IVA and write off most of my debt!

Hi
I think some creditors pass on details to companies such as Cleardebt once you are in a default position with them, a little late in your case though !

Mel prefers not to comment on this post to any degree - but does wonder where the data actually originates from.

I was wondering that - the insolvency list no doubt plays a part in all of this !

I thought companies weren't allowed to make unsolicited contact?

I think that they are if you have given permission for your details to be passed on to other companies. These days you seem to have to overtly opt out of that, rather than opt in.

That really annoys me. I always try and opt out but different companies do things differently - some you have to tick the box to opt in and some to opt out. I'm sure it's deliberate to catch people out!

I agree Skippy sometimes you have to read carefully as it can be confusing. x
