Just get an agent round and ask them for the price for a quick sale. Some agents are catching on and won't put it in writing but don't mention it's for the IVA!

No you have to make them think you are a serious potential customer!!

I got round this by emailing the agent to ask him to confirm the price suggested, as I was not present for his visit myself, and asking whether it was the asking price or what we could actually expect to achieve. He oblingingly replied so we in effect got a written valuation, but without having to fork out the £100 they would charge for this.

There is no harm in asking for the valuation on a forced sale basis. This is a term frequently used by valuers and they should be very familiar with the process.

There are free on line valuation services that my IP would have accepted. I paid for my valuation I had to save up for it. In the mean time my IP (GT) suggested I used the on line one. For everyone's information the answer was exactly the same. All though the real one did tell me about issues I needed to sort out ASAP that I did not know about.

I had one a couple of months ago from a local agent - just said that I was probably going to be made redundant so would need to move and had no problems in getting a free one in writing.

I had no problem either and they emailed me a pack with lots of information in. I didn't need to print it either and just forwarded to my IP x

Hi Pollyann, if you are required to pay then speak to your IVA provider, i'm sure i'm correct in saying this money will be re-embursed, other methods are via Zoopla etc but make sure your details are correct as they could overvalue your house. Good luck.

Hi Mel I have got one now, phoned around for the cheapest one as i could not get anyone to email me a quote. Prices do vary if you shop around but at least it completes my paperwork hopefully and we can move on, £75+vat was one of the cheaper ones, some were very over the top with their prices.

Hi

Would an online valuation do, say Zoopla ? these seem fairly accurate from what I have seen
