Technically, any windfall that you get before you receive your completion certificate could be claimed by the IVA.

Hi and welcome Sally, i would ask your IP to be honest, i like you have finished and just awaiting my CC, some hope! However i asked this question as i have got a letter stating that my obligations have now been fulfilled and i have been told in writing that should i be fortunate enough to come into a windfall or inheritance it is mine to keep, good luck and best wishes. x

I believe it depends on the terms of your IVA and your own IP's viewpoints...have heard very mixed views on this, but I would sincerely hope some common sense and compassion is given if this should happen....after all having fulfilled all of the conditions of your IVA and finished your payments is a massive achievement and one that should be seen to complete your IVA - the issue around certificates taking so long to come through does unfortunately cause this to be an ongoing topic of conversation.....your own IP should be able to give an indicative answer for you.
Well done for coming to the end of your IVA x
