hi. iv recently taken on a few more hours each week at work to get me throught the christmas period and an unexpected leaking roof. its only temporary to cover sickness. I sent an to email to our IPs admin dept asking if i still needed to give 50% uplift on my extra income. she said no as they only take the uplift on overtime bonuses etc... should i have notified of my change of hours even if they are only on a temp basis?. I have checked thru my paperwork and couldnt find anything. Does any changes only need to be notified when we have our annual review?. Thanks in advance and happy new year to you all!

Hi and welcome
You have done the right thing in contacting your IP, just make sure you keep the email stating that you do not need to pay any extra

If they were only a few extra hours, then I would not have thought you would have exceeded your 10% monthly benchmark - but if you have then surely these are classed as overtime? As Andy says, try and get written clarification as to this point to avoid any nasty suprises at the annual review stage.

Many thanks for you reply Andy. I will make sure i save the email.
Hi Melanie thanks also for your reply. I only work part time but they put me on a temp contract for the extra hours so its not classed as overtime.it shows on my wage slip as salary. but like youve said, i dont want to end up with a suprise at my review. the email i received back didnt suggest i needed to do anything if it wasnt overtimr or a bonus.

Then I completely concur with your IP's most sensible stance vimtolil.
