Hi all, long time no visit!
All is well with us, we are coming up to 5 years since we went bankrupt - can't believe how quickly time has flown!
I have just done a check of all our credit records and have a concern regarding an entry.
Peugeot Finance officially defaulted us in June 2008, when our bankruptcy was Feb 2008. However, as it was our only car at the time, we made a payment in Feb 2008 prior to bankruptcy.
There are therefore only missed payments from March 2008 onwards.
They have settled the account as of Feb 2009.
My concern is that if I report this to them them, that they may remove the default from June, and leave the account settled to Feb 2009, then the account will stay on my report for 7 years after my bankruptcy.
I also have an issue with Welcome Finance, who never defaulted my account (they just kept reporting missed payments) and just settled it as of Feb 2009. As it stands, that will still be on my account after 7 years, which seems wrong to me.
Do you think there is there any point speaking to the information commissioner?
