Hi Dave, I am afraid GT will not close your IVA until this PPI has been resolved. Hopefully they will follow the lead of other firms in carrying out a mass variation whereby cases can be closed pending PPI being dealt with.

Small comfort, I am afraid, and, all other considerations apart, another prime example of an abysmal lack of communication on their part. To not even have the common courtesy to advise you that another company would be in touch on their behalf is unbelievable, especially in this day and age when all sorts of telephone scams are being operated!

My understanding is that all closures are having to be considered for PPI refunds prior to closure action being taken which is causing the significant delay for many people. Unfortunately GT have not yet had a mass variation approved which will allow closure to take place whilst claims to PPI are dealt with outside the normal closure procedure...you are one of many i am afraid and my only advice will be to remain in regular communication with them to seek updates.

i received an email on the 17th of december stating that they would not hold up the closure due to the PPI, i then asked for a timeline of my IVA which to date they have not provided or for that matter made any communicate attempts to do with my closure, ive now adopted the email them once a month policy, is my only option to just sit and wait ?

Unfortunately David it is. I would however continue to contact them, and knowing me I would be doing it weekly not monthly ! I would also try to contact my IP direct, and use the contact Karol who posts on the forum to see if she can support in anyway. Her contact details can be found under the Experts list ...ensure the subject email is known as "iva forum".

I know how frustrating it is and I do sympathise - if I or other forum members could do anything we would....

Hi Dave, Are you emailing the closure team directly?

Keep up the pressure, and I am sure they will get round to dealing with your case Dave just as soon as they are able.

Hi Folks,

I made my last payment to GT in June 2012 and was told by email in October they where waiting on one final agreement from Capital one, almost 4 months after the last payment! So it goes one, I contact the closures team again by email, automated response 10 days, blah, blah.

Waited 12 days no reply, I rang directly and was advised the person dealing with the emails was on leave, no wonder wit the pressure these people are probably under, however not justified for a business such as GT who are being very well remunerated for there "Supervisor" services.

Firstly, I have to say the communication from GT is poor to non existent. When I signed up I was told 60 months, with closure 66. That's what I signed up to, not 72 months. Secondly, the PPI / Bank charges have now been thrown into the pot, this is the latest information I received and frankly if it wasn't sorted out with in the 66 months what the hell is it now the issue, its beyond bearable.

Tomorrow I will be sending a letter of complaint for GT to deal with and if I don't have a happy conclusion I will be looking at my options for a more formal approach to there delay and what I would consider a breach in contract on there part.

Sad to see another unhappy GT client. I do hope the complaints process works for you.

Sadly though Melanie, GT/DFD don't appear to be learning from their mistakes, communication is the root to success in so many things and this they are both sadly lacking on. I hope that sooner rather than later this whole fiasco is sorted, new legislation is agreed and anyone finishing his/her IVA doesn't get caught up in such a shambolic mess again.
