i recieved a ppi payment of £2.600 pounds in october last year i hit difficulties around that time i had every intention of declaring this in january 2013 but my wife has now left me and has taken half that amount out of our joint account where does that leave me i can pay half of the ppi claim, so where does that leave me i need a clean record because of my job requires this i am in security which requires a sia badge so will i have a criminal record through no fault of mine

Hi and welcome to the forum. I would stop worrying about a criminal record as I don't think you will be prosecuted. You will need to talk to your IP as soon as possible and try and work a way forward. The money as you know will need to be paid to your credditors. Is yours an interlocking IVA with your wife or is the IVA just yours?

Hi. First of all, don't panic. You should have handed this over at the time you were paid --- so you might get a wrap on the knuckles for that. I imagine your IP will now want the half you have got, and will, hopefully make arrangements for you to repay the missing money over time, or at the end of the IVA by an extension.

Was your wife in an IVA as well?
Was the PPI claim from a joint account or one that was in your name only?
