Hi Everyone a PPI Questions for you I Completed my IVA last May and received my completion certificate soon after Can i now claim for Mis sold PPI from a loan which i had of Barclays, this was included in my IVA but not before 5 years of the 7 year term were paid, im not sure about claiming if i should just try and claim for the years in which were paid in full, before the IVA was granted or not, very confused on this matter or not totally sure i can claim at all due to my history Thanks in advance

Hi Mark, there is nothing to stop you claiming. However, Barclays might retain the monies to offset against your old debt, they might insist on paying it to your old IP, and it will be distributed between your old creditors (or the IP might just return it to you).

You would be wise to check with your former IP s to whether the PPI mis-sellng claim would constitute an asset of the arrangement in the event that your claim were to be successful. If it is, then the closure of your case will not stop the monies being rightfully claimed by the IP if they choose to pursue the matter.
