If they credit checked you and found you to be in an IVA you may be refused. T-mobile are sometimes IVA friendly and I'm sure other posters will have experience of other providors.

I very much doubt that they would accept you in an IVA, especially if they are one of your creditors.

T-mobile and Orange have merged now, haven't they? Am pretty sure they are now called 'EE'. I had issues with Orange, so that may now affect new EE users. When did you get your contract?

My IVA completed a year after it started as I offered a full and final settlement. However, the IVA is showing completed on my credit file, but will show for a further five years. I have applied to all Mobile Phone companies for a ciontract. All have turned me down. The only ones that kind of said yes was T Mobile, but not the deal I wanted... It was a sim only deal, ie no phone on a yearly contract at £10.50 per month. I wanted a phone so at the moment, I continue with my pay as u go Until the IVA is removed from my credit file I know I will have very little chance in getting any form of credit. I am finding even car insurance now wont accept me for monthly payments like I have done in the past, so I am having to pay annually. pain !!

if you have an account with virgin media for your broadband or telephone or tv you will be able to get a contract and phone with them.
as an existing customer they dont do a proper credit check and even if they did they would still let you have a contract.
i got 2 rolling 30 day contract sims deals and when i asked them about a proper contract and phone they said yes as your already a customer.
worth a punt.

Rich, if you are applying to all the mobile phone providers in short space of time this will have a negative impact on your credit files. The CRAs don't know whether you were approved or declined so to a lender each search is a potential line of credit that you already have.
