Sorry people, I just wondered if anyone on here had boiler cover and if they could recommend a company who offers the best value policy? trawling the internet but not sure who is best? (Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask the question - not sure if another part of the forum for these sort of questions)

British gas have the best package in my opinion.

It's been discussed before and I think British Gas always come out on top (not that I'm with them grrr).

We're with British Gas and I'd definitely recommend them.

today is day 6 without hot water or heating. ivw just come back rfom having a shower at my neighbours

my service contract is with an uncaring , unprofessional couldnt care less company called CORGI.

unfortunately when their bumf came though the door 3 years ago, I assumed it was Corgi the well respectd brand. Little did I know Corgi doesnt exist any more and a new company started to use its name. gas safe who were the original corgi operation tried to take out an injunction to stop this company using the Corgi name, but it was rejected as it was worded incorrectly. Corgi also use Subcontactor service agents

AVOID CORGI and use british gas. My corgi cover goes up in April to £18.99. Once theyve finally replaced the pump in the boiler and its in working order I will move to british gas.

Hope this helps as i would hate anyone else to be without heatinmg or hot water for a week in winter

We are with British Gas and they just saved our Boiler despite it fighting back for 3 days! So yes I would recommend them.

We're with Eon, boiler and radiator cover for £14 a month and a free annual check, no issues at all so far...I would recommend them.

CORGI and Gas Safe are/ were the regulating bodies for the installers and maintenance companies that install or maintain gas appliances.

All "fitters" used to have to have a CORGI certificate, now that have to have a Gas Safe certificate which is supposed to show that fitter has passed certain exams/ tests to show that know what they are doing.

British Gas may well have a decent maintenance policy BUT if they tell you the parts can no longer be obtainable or quote you for a new boiler ALWAYS get a second opinion from an independant fitter.

Their quote was well over twice as much as it should have been for the old lady opposite my dad and they also told her that work needed doing when it did not. On top of that another fitter told my next door neighbour their pipes were faulty and proceeded to wreck their decoration/ plaster on the wall to get to them only to find the problem was with their gas fire after all.

I will look into British Gas once my boiler cover expires for certain. Again though my hubby works for a company with plumbers with the gas safe certificates so we can get 2nd opinions which I always would do if they condemmed it.

We are with British gas as if ever the boiler broke down we would have no hot water which would be a total nightmare..Better to be safe than sorry..You can get necrtar points if you get insurance from british gas...
