welcome to the forum. The Yorksire Bank, The Co-Op and both Halifax and Natwest are normally IVAN friendly. You can ring up for a Co-op pack to be sent out, and with the others pop into your local branch...be sure to ask for there basic accounts

Both the ClearCash and the Secure Trust accounts are viable alternatives to basic free banking, if you struggle to find a bank who will accept you. The downside is that there is a monthly charge, but the upside is that the account can be opened immediately with no credit checking.

I am also a very satisfied Secure Trust customer and would recommend them very highly. ClearCash is another account you may wish to look into.

I am with Nationwide... does this mean 'hopefully' if my IVA goes through they will close my account?

Just to add Nationwide are not one of my creditors.

As far as I'm aware Nationwide don't have a policy of closing accounts. My BR is still showing on my credit file and I've had an account with them for a long time without any problems.

I opened a Yorkshire Bank account in December they do credit check on even a basic account so probably unlikely to be accepted once in an IVA - I did open a Natwest basic account online though with no problems just had to take copies of ID in to our local branch.

I opened a basic bank account with NatWest as soon as my IVA was accepted.... great service, card, direct debits and online banking (which is in real-time, so you know exactly how much money you have!) I was up front with them in the branch and they were more than helpful.

I went with NatWest too, they've been great, had no problems what so ever.
