Feeling a little surreal at the moment. It's been a very bumpy ride for me but I calculate that I'll be paying the final installment of my IVA (all arrears included) six weeks tomorrow. There is of course the completion certificate / PPI nonsense to put up with but let's be honest...the lack of disposable income for such a long time is the main cause of stress and it's nearly over. I can't believe it.

Thanks all. I plan to save at least half of my disposable income when it arrives. I've spent far too long with an empty bank balance and in fear of the inevitable crises that pop up now and again. When I have approx 3 months wages in the bank I'll start to think about a holiday or two etc.

by 12 months to go
hi komakino , well done for getting to the end; it feels fantastic doesnt it

not only that , for me it taught me how to value real money and not credit.

strangely enough the first few months after my last payment i didnt feel as flush as i thought i would , but i did need to replace quite a few household items , clothes & shoes etc

My IVA payment was £554 & this month, i have a week to go until payday and have £700 left from my Febs wage, mainly becuase having no money for 6 years learned me to be as tight as they come. Hopefully in a few months you will be like this as well

downside for my IVA is that i was that skint for 6 years that i got used to not going out, so like tonight its Sat night and i havnt gone out, although granted im 6.5 years older now than i was when i commence dmy IVA so i suppose this is down to middle age also !!

well done but cleaning up credit is the next part..that can be a nightmare, the amount of letters I wrote,I have passed the 6 year mark and still cleaning up the mess, some creditors are wicked.
I have a score of 943 with experian, should be higher, but its just a guide, creditors use there own scoring but some use CRA and combine it with their system
