Well it seems ive reached an impasse with Grant Thornton.

Ive legally completed all my obligations under my original IVA, Grant Thornton have agreed everything id in order so my IVa should be finished yes??
Actually the answer seems to be no....so this is a question for our professional IP's on the Forum.
I have refused to allow a clause in a variation allowing Grant Thornton to take more money from the IVA pot for thier own pockets over VAT.

So GT are now refusing to issue a completition Certificate unless i agree to up the Fee's they can claim.
Now i feel this is pressure tactics and they are causing unnecessary stress.

Now i understand the VAT problem (including the current bought iva change by HMRC)i even offered to allow a set amount on top as long as it was reasonable but they want a unlimited cap instead.

How has the other firms on here managed to sort out CC's whilst still waiting for the VAT to sort itself which GT seeminlgy is unwilling to do?

In a few short weeks they breach the 72 week limit on the IVA so will they have breached the IVA and failed in thier dutys as a supervisor?

Also as a side question can a IP be both supervisor and chairmen? on an IVA?

Check your proposal -- in mine they have the power to extend twice and only then by giving notice within a set time period.

In my eyes they have the usual 6 months -- if they do not give notice to extend before that 6 months is up the IVA finishes, per the contract. If they exercise either or both of the "permitted" extensions, so be it ... however, when they end, again, so does the IVA.

I imagine this would have to be tested come the time.

Im slightly concerned that GT is actually supervisor and Chairman on my IVA thus giving themselves an extra vote?
Surely this is wrong?

Chairman doesn't vote, except where he is granted a proxy authority under the terms of the IVA.

I am still awaiting and i made my final payment well over a year ago!!

Every time i call up i feel like i am being given the same story where they are awaiting the date of meetings.

Getting really fed up and depressed and just want to close this chapter of my life and move on, but GT keep failing on me.

Some are filtering through but with new stumbling block of "Bought IVA" HMRC decision it may slow again.

Just received my completion certificate today almost 7 years to the day after starting it :-). Following advice from another topic in this forum I e mailed customer services on Friday evening using IVA forum as the subject line, and received a reply yesterday confirming completion and saying I should receive my completion certificate within 2 to 3 weeks, my certificate arrived today (Postmarked yesterday) how's that for coincidence. Thank you GT customer services

I'm still waiting - but as I've been told by the end of June there's still a few days left.

I will be getting in touch on Monday if nothing's come by then though.

Great to see that using the forum as an influencer, fizzer appears to have jumped the queue. Hope that doesn't open too many floodgates!

I understand how you feel viperboyz, I am in a similar situation with Grant Thornton. Paid a final settlement 10 months ago and all I want is my completion certificate. I just want to get on with my life but this is just getting in the way
