We are having problems with Grant Thornton regarding getting our cc certificate. We made an offer for a full and final payment which was accepted and paid in September 2012. We received a letter saying thank you and that we would receive our cc within 6 months. It has been nearly 10 months now. This is really stressful as we just want to get on with our lives. We had recieved a letter in June 2012 about ppi, offering to give our details to their ppi company to assist us in claiming ppi and to contact them within 10 days if we didn't want our details passing on (which we did) we phoned within the time stated and opted out of claiming ppi and asked them not to pass our details on.
Never heard anymore more about it and as we had opted out, didn't expect to, until it got to around the 6 month mark, when we were expecting our cc. We started getting phone calls numerous times a day from their ppi company ( who they had obviously given our details to despite being asked not to) we told them we had paid a full & final payment and were just now waiting for our cc and they said "oh so you are, we'll that means you will be able to keep the money but we can still claim it for you, would you like us to do that"?
Then our ip said that we won't get our cc until we let them claim the ppi.
We don't like speaking to any of them on the phone now, we prefer to have contact with them by email as they contradict theirselves and we want to have proof of all communications but they don't answer emails properly, just email to say please ring.
We opted out so why can't they just send our cc? How is claiming ppi off our creditors, taking, I would imagine, a sizeable cut then giving it back to them working in the best interest of the creditors? Why would any of the creditors even agree to this? I just want our cc and all this is doing is wasting time. The only people I can see benefiting from this is grant thornton
