My partner moved in with me the beginning of this year and we are now thinking about getting married, but I'm concerned he would have to contribute to my iva in any way? my parents have said they would pay for our wedding - obviously it would be a v small affair at our local registry office - but my partner is self employed and even though he lives with me we have always had to keep our financial payments seperate as of my iva and he's self employed and works in london in the week, would all this be affected if we were to marry?

Your IP I assume is aware you're sharing now so I do not think when you marry anything will change. Congratulations.

I was advised not to get married due to my iva. I was told that he could have become liable as as man and wife assets are shared. Living together is no problem but we didn't chance getting married. We started a family and now I have my cert we will get married next year after I have had chance to loose the weight from my baby that's due October.

Life should not be put on hold whilst in an IVA. Your partners income will only be used to ensure the right split of household bills is made leaving your disposable income for your IVA and his for whatever he wants to do with it.
Plan that wedding ..go for it and have a wonderful day x
